It’s Show Season People!

Just as Bentley (my old company) packs up its “Be Inspired 2010” event (usually a well-earned time to relax for a day or two) our Pointools team is gearing up to attend not one, not two, but three BIG events this autumn; two right at the end of November, and a third in early December. We’d love to see you there!

First-up is ELMF, or the European LiDAR Mapping Forum. ELMF runs from November 30th – December 1st 2010 and is located in The Hague (NL). According to the ELMF web site, the event is “A major, two day technical conference focussing on the use of LIDAR to support transport, urban modelling, coastal zone mapping, asset management and GIS applications.”

Building on 10 years of experience with the annual International LIDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) in the USA, the organisers are bringing their show to Europe in recognition of the technology advances being spearheaded in Europe, and in response to the particular challenges and opportunities which face LiDAR operators in the European market.

If you are attending please join Pointools on the exhibition floor and connect with Tony Rogers and Cyril Putureau to see Pointools’ software offerings for LiDAR model workflows.

Running in tandem, but across the pond in Las Vegas, is AU or Autodesk University. AU starts on November 28th and runs until December 2nd 2010 and is described as “An opportunity to engage in candid discussions on emerging technologies, trends, and upcoming solutions that may help you work better and grow your business.”

AU is a well-run event on a grand scale. It’s the first time that Pointools has exhibited its portfolio of plug-ins for Autodesk software at AU so we are all very excited about connecting with the thousands of users who will be attending each year.

Join Pointools on the exhibition floor and connect with Faraz Ravi, Joe Croser, and Dan Cutler to see Pointools’ software offerings, including a brand new plug-in. More on that in due course! Suffice to say, this new plug-in further strengthens our position as the only software vendor dedicated to creating high-performance software for working with the largest point cloud models inside the broadest range of applications.

And then on the 7th and 8th of December 2010, we are in Amsterdam for the inaugural SPAR Europe 2010 event. According to the SPAR website “SPAR Europe will showcase the very freshest, next-generation scanning technology and attract the world’s experts in 3D data capture and post-processing for engineering, construction and asset management.”

Just like ELMF, the SPAR Europe event has grown out of the immensely popular SPAR conferences held annually in the USA and Japan. “The growth and success of SPAR conferences are rooted in the relentless pursuit of innovative technologies, project-hardened work processes, and new ideas for attendees.” The website continues.

Please come along and visit Pointools on the exhibition floor. Again the team will be there in force; Tony Rogers, Faraz Ravi (presenting a paper at SPAR), Joe Croser, and Dan Cutler will be on hand to demonstrate Pointools’ software offerings, including the brand new plug-in mentioned above.

We’d love to see you there!
